Thank you for verifying Usul_G.hopefully JohnIV is aware and it is being fixed for next release. I also find an option in this "ini" file suppose to active the write option but that doesn't work better. In fact I found out that Mameui64 correctly create a mame.ini in the "ini" folder during the first launch but if you delete or rename this "mame.ini" file, when mame is running then modify anything in "game defaut options" menu, and finaly apply.nothing happensĪnyway I've had to modify "mame.ini" to active my options, and now it works just fine. I tried some tricks, like start the "exe" in administrator mode, in case of it been a matter of rights but it failed.

There is nothing that Microsoft could have done to prevent this. I wonder if this is going to cause any unpleasant and potentially expensive legal repercussions for CCP, from users who have lost data while trying to fix the issue? In that instance, attempting to uninstall the game (something many users would do not long after installing it, given the tedious and half-baked nature of the game) had a good chance of wiping the user's hard disk. The only gaming-related parallel I can think of relates to the uninstall programme bug for the 2001 version of Pool of Radiance. Of course, a reasonably savvy user could probably have an affected system working again fairly quickly without any data-loss, but my own experience suggests that such users will be in the minority. if this story isn't a wild exaggeration, then this is about as unfortunate as a game-bug can possibly get.
